PEA Tollway Corporation (PEATC) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA), formerly Public Estates Authority attached under the Office of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources. It is a government-owned-and-controlled corporation incorporated under the Corporation Code of the Philippines on October 7, 1997, and registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission with Registration No. A1997-16871.
Pursuant to Section 15.03 of the Toll Operations Agreement (TOA) PEATC is to undertake and perform the Operations and Maintenance obligations of the PRA, specifically to manage, operate, monitor, maintain and repair the Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway Project now known as Cavitex. PEATC is designated to collect toll fees, which shall then be distributed to Philippine Reclamation Authority and Joint Venture Partner Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation in accordance with the sharing arrangement set forth in the Joint Venture Agreement (JVA) and TOA.
Presently, PEATC has a manpower base of 161 organic and more than 260 service providers’ personnel to man seven departments namely: Toll Operations; Human Resources; Traffic Operations; Finance and Admin.; Comptrollership; Management Information System and Engineering & Facility Administration. The legal services for PEATC are handled and provided by the Office of the Government Corporate Counsel (OGCC).
