Welcome to Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway
The Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway Project (MCTEP), now known as CAVITEX, is a 14-kilometer expressway along the coast of Bacoor Bay after South of Roxas Boulevard which exits to Kawit and the cities of Las Piñas and Bacoor. It is located 11 kms from Manila, the capital of the Philippines and 7 kms from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). It has two (2) main Toll Plazas in Parañaque and Kawit. Paranaque toll plaza has (20) lanes and (7) of which are reversible while Kawit has the same number of lanes and (4) of which are also reversible.
MCTEP consists of three (3) expressways namely; R1 Expressway, the C-5 Link Expressway and R1 Expressway Extension including interchanges, traffic lanes, acceleration and deceleration lanes, shoulders, median, laybys, toll plazas, highway signages, streetlights and ancillary facilities.
Each of the expressway is divided into five (5) segments as follows:

The R1 expressway groundbreaking ceremonies was held on September 14, 1995. Commercial operations began on May 24, 1998 after it was granted a Notice to Start Collection by the Toll Regulatory Board.
The seven (7) kilometer R1 Expressway Extension (Segment 4) was inaugurated by President Benigno Simeon “Noynoy” C. Aquino III on April 27, 2011 and was formally opened to the motoring public on May 1, 2011.
The Segment 5 was realigned to include Cavite City and Rosario. To date the project is under preliminary feasibility studies.
